15 of our 30 member Rising Stars squad ventured to the War Memorial Parade grounds at 4.30am today, Anzac Day, as a mark of respect and remembrance. The boys had the privilege of hearing from our own Lieutenant Colonel Richard Green about life in the Army and the importance of Anzac Day.
Richard described to the boys the great joy he's received in his career serving others. From East Timor to the Middle East, Richard outlined what it was like to serve next to his mates and bring peace and hope into people's lives. He discussed how as footballers the importance of respect..."your teammates need to know they can rely on you in the heat of battle", Richard commented to the boys.
A great thanks to Richard for his time and Coach Chris Maher and Captain Ryan Crowley for getting the group along to share this special time together.
