My son is new to Marist Australian Football Club – what do I need to do?
1 Get your son registered.
To register, go to the Registration page on the website.
If your son has played previously for a club other than Marist, please contact the Registrar before filling in the registration form as we need to seek a club-to-club transfer. The Registrar will need your son’s name, date of birth, previous team and the name of the league he played in (if not AFL Canberra).
2 If you’re interested in being a coach, manager, first aider, runner or club umpire
Please indicate this on your son’s registration form.
3 Buy a pair of MAFC shorts and socks from the College Uniform Shop.
The club will provide your son with a match-day jumper and an indigenous jumper.
Indigenous jumpers are worn in games during the AFL indigenous round and in games against Gungahlin Jets (to avoid a jumper clash).
4 Join us at our social functions: Season Launch and Gala Dinner
Keep checking the website for more information.
5 Get your son ready for training.
Training times and locations will be listed on the website. Boys should wear a football jumper, shorts, football socks and football boots to training.
6 Make sure your son has a mouthguard.
All players are required to wear a mouthguard during weekend matches and during contact drills at training (for example, drills involving tackling).
7 Check out the MAFC website and consider joining the MAFC Facebook and Instagram pages.
The MAFC website is being revamped and hopefully it won’t be too long before it is the go-to place for information about the club. You will be able to find the latest news, upcoming events, resources for coaches, managers etc, club policies, history, and links to a range of other AFL sites.
During the season, the MAFC Facebook and Instagram pages will show scores and photos from weekend games.
The MAFC President will also occasionally circulate information via email. To get added to the club email list, please send you email address to email@example.com
